... Strong thunderstorms with locally heavy rain... gusty winds... and small hail affected parts of northern Arizona on Friday...
The strongest storms today were from the Mogollon Rim... White Mountains and Yavapai County mountains southward. Reports of pea to Marble sized hail were called in... with one report of around an inch of hail covering the ground in portions of East Flagstaff. Marble sized hail was reported by the park service on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Reports of very heavy rainfall were called in.

In addition to the heavy rain... the stronger storms produced strong wind gusts. A report near Antelope Hills along Highway 89 north of Flagstaff indicated estimated winds in excess of 50 mph with another report of strong winds at Castle Hot Springs however no damage was reported.
One small stream flood advisory was issued for portions of central Yavapai County at 131 PM MST for an area of storms south of Prescott and around the Kirkland and Skull Valley areas. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued at 228 PM MST for central Yavapai County near Bagdad. This storm was capable of quarter sized hail and strong wind gusts in excess of 60 mph... however no reports came in to verify their occurrences.
