after agricultural dikes were removed.

* Moderate flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to near 17.6 feet sometime
Tuesday mid-morning then begin falling.
* Impact statement(s) - at 18.0 feet, major flood stage. North Dakota
Highway 32... south of Walhalla becomes impassable.

... The Flood Warning remains in effect until 300 PM CDT Tuesday for
Walsh... Pembina and eastern Cavalier counties...

At 335 PM CDT... the public reported that flooding was occurring in
the towns of mountain and Crystal in southwestern Pembina County.
Water was also very high and flooding roads in areas south of
Walhalla into the Olga and Milton areas of southeastern Cavalier
County and into the Hoople region of northern Walsh County.

* Public reported 5 to 7 inches of rain in the mountain and Crystal
area. Rain will still fall this evening but taper off slowly in
intensity overnight into Tuesday. Another half inch or a bit more
is expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flash flood deaths occur in automobiles. Do not drive your
vehicle into water of unknown depth. One or two feet of water will
float most cars downstream.

Turn around dont drown. Avoid driving on flooded roads. Most flood
related deaths occur in automobiles.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of northeast North Dakota... including the following
areas... Akra... Cavalier... and Bathgate.

* Through Tuesday afternoon

* flood waters are on the verge of going over the emergency
spillway at the Renwick dam. This dam is located 6 miles west of
Cavalier. Around 7 inches of rain has occurred near this
dam... and the water is expected to run over the emergency
spillway. The best estimate is for the stage at Akra to rise an
additional 2 to 3 feet... cresting between 19 and 20 feet
sometime by Tuesday afternoon. This water would then affect the
cities of Cavalier and Bathgate. This amount of water has not
occurred since 1950 and it is unsure how areas along The Tongue
river will be affected. Information from the Pembina County
sheriff department indicates that the dam is not in danger of
failing at this time. However... the large amount of water that
would affect Akra... Cavalier... and Bathgate may lead to
evacuations.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, ND has issued a
* Flood Watch for
the Red River at Drayton
* from Friday afternoon until further notice.
* At 8:45 PM Monday the stage was 28.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* Forecast... flood stage may be reached by Friday afternoon.
