I think we were all were in shock during these days Tiger... Coming off of Katrina Having to evacuate Texans/NOLA people NHC calling for a Galveston hit then at the last minute she BOUNCED and went to y'all....
Nightmare scenrio for everyone BUT we certainly have learned much since then...

You're welcome. I can't imagine having rode out that storm. I saw the after effects and that was bad enough. For years I wondered what it was actually like when it happened. Wasn't much footage out there of the actual storm. I'm guessing because like every other one lately, it came at night. I rode out Humberto at night. And just the sounds were terrifying. All the more so because you couldn't see what was going on. Somewhere I saw a video of the horrifying sounds of Ike. I'll have to find that one again. Get shivers just thinking of it.

Yes. Was some harsh lessons but I think we're stronger for them. Hopefully they will save lives in the future. That turn to the north was unexpected. Thank goodness we did evacuate all the way to Louisiana. DRM did a blog comparing Rita and Audrey. The biggest difference was the evacuation. Link
