Who said Latin is a dead language?
My first "open" daffodil.. :)
Hope you are feeling EVEN better today as you fight that horrid bug! (Not our Bug, she is not horrid!) lol
The minestrone went down well, as did my dried tomato bread! lol
She brought a box of Lindt chocolates for us to "sample" with coffee after the meal...yummy!
I found the most interesting book listed while I was browsing the Daedalus catalogue last night. It made me think of you, but I'm out of time now - I'll tell you about it tonight.
I do hope you're feeling better. We have a lovely day ahead of us - I think. I just looked out the window and it seems to be getting dark. Maybe a morning shower? I hope now, but we'll see.
The funny Latin BF brought by makes me think of a slogan I came across somewhere: Semper ubi, Sub ubi You can figure that one out!
I have had time to see all of our spring growth! The forsythia is blooming! I'll be glad when it's done blooming, as it's been years since I've pruned it, and it's become very unruly!
I never had the chance this spring to prune the clematis, and now that it's starting to leaf out, I'm just going to leave it alone!
Roses are leafing out, as is our young Willow tree! Hope the frost stays away!
Isn't Aqua and Rain supposed to be there this week? Give them my best regards!
Ylee, yes Rain and Aqua are coming for the weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. We have had incredibly warm weather, for this time of the year, and no rain. Now they are saying that there will be showers Sat., hopefully they will be brief and gentle. I will give them your greetings. I suppose you know that my heart is singing ..
Don't worry about the pruning, there is always next year. Although if you really wanted to prune the clematis, you can still do it. I pruned mine just a few days ago and already new shoots are emerging from the ground. Forsythias do get big but I like the unruly branches full of buds! My hubby has a mania, each spring after the Forsythia blooms he prunes the bushes mercilessly! As a result the bushes are not graceful but stubby and utilitarian.
Shore, I did go to the site about the photographs, very interesting. My art teacher would have a heart attack if we used a photo taken by someone else (professional or taken by someone other than the painter himself). It is her pet issue and each term we get the lecture about copyrights, etc. We have discussed about photos from sites that allows the photos to be copied and painted, or even sites that sell photos for painters. Actually those paintings cannot be sold, shown in shows, not be part of any commercial venture. There have been interesting court cases that support the original owner of the image, regardless of how the artist came into getting the photo. But if the artist in a hobbyist and does not sell nor display the painting, I personally do not see a problem with copyrights issues. The teacher/artist does not agree with me!
A couple of times I have liked a WU photo and asked for permission from the owner to use the photo for a non-professional painting. Permission has been given each time, I have done the painting and sent a photo of the painting to the kind photographer. BUT, I would never enter that particular painting in an art show. It has been a few years since I have shown my paintings so no sales! Besides I never went out for a sale, the buyers came to me with offers.
Semper ubi, Sub ubi, nice pun in English! Rest assured, I never go without my ubi! In public anyways!
For someone who would not spend too much time on the blog this morning, I sure am verbose.
Sandi, beautiful photo of the daffodil. Isn't spring just beautiful in its renewal and message of hope? Please do treat me with photos of your beautiful yard and the flowers growing there.
I have been posting on your blog so I will make this short.
I need to check the previous page to see if there are more posts to acknowledge. In the meantime, please have a wonderful Thursday, Friday, and weekend everyone. LOVE AND PEACE TO ALL!
Caesar:
Who is it in the press that calls on me?
I hear a tongue shriller than all the music
Cry "Caesar!" Speak, Caesar is turn'd to hear.
Soothsayer:
Beware the ides of March.
Caesar:
What man is that?
Brutus:
A soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March.

LANDOVER, Md. - An Amber Alert has been issued for 9-year-old Wuilbert Joel Garcia, who was abducted from Dodge Park Elementary School in the 3400 block of Hubbard Road in Landover around 3 p.m. on Friday.
He was taken by his mother, 36-year-old Silvia Garcia, who is not the custodial parent.
She was last seen driving a black '93 4-door Mercedes 190E, with Maryland plates 8AG0407 and has a dent on right front and rear door.

But I will not complain, as rain is "promised" for the weekend! Yeah! It will wash away the greyness and clear the atmosphere.... hopefully :)
I do hope you don't have rain for your special weekend but have "Rain" instead! lol
Thanks for your comment on my photo - I agree, we can keep spring.... springing! If the sun comes out today, (it did for about an hour late yesterday afternoon,) I shall wander around the garden with the camera:)
Victim was found safe in Nevada, Suspect is in custody
LANDOVER, Md. --
Maryland State Police have canceled an Amber Alert for a 9-year-old boy last seen in Prince George's County.
Police issued the alert shortly before 8:30 p.m. Thursday for Wuilbert Caceres Garcia, 9, a boy who authorities said was abducted by his mother, Silvia Garcia.
The two were reportedly found early Friday morning at a Reno, Nevada, airport. The boy was unharmed.
Prince George's County police said Sylvia Garcia took Wuilbert from Dodge Park Elementary in Landover shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday. His father has full custody, police said.
I don't know what an ubi is, but do I need to bring one? two?
they won't let me bring a pie on the plane, but I wanted to bring you a pie
I wish I could stay a WEEK and cook pies all week for you
rob told me about a place that used to be a prison, and the prisoners built their own new prison and the bricks were made from the clay on the banks of the river (accaquan?) where it goes into the potomac
now I really must RUN and find matching shoes
hi everyone- I am so LUCKY- I will be face-full of all of mom's flowers very soon, yellow pollen all over my nose
(runs off chaotically)
Pies non stop? Wait when you see how fat I have gotten! Hate it bit it persistently clings to me!
Matching shoes? I am impressed. I have not worn matching shoes in eons!
Can't wait to see you.
PS The house may be not too clean, my cleaners forgot to call me yesterday to say when they are coming today. Hopefully it was an oversight and not a forget to schedule my best customer on the one day that she really needs them to be here! I will call their office when they open at 8am.
Lots to do to get ready to go - "see you" when I get back.
Overcast here today and a bit cooler with no wind at the moment. Need to go and get myself some breakfast and take my morning meds. For the first time in a long time, I got to bed before midnight and slept through till a little after 4 AM, got up fed Miss Smudgie then went back to bed for another couple hours. Finally had a decent night's sleep. Let's hope it lasts.
Have a wonderful Friday dear one. Good thoughts going your way, know that even if we don't chat much you are always with me in my thoughts and prayers. Have a fun day with Aqua and Rain.
Actor George Clooney and his father have been arrested at a protest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington.
The protesters accuse Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, of provoking a humanitarian crisis and blocking food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains in the county's border region with South Sudan.
Clooney and others, including Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia and NAACP President Ben Jealous, were arrested after being warned three times not to cross a police line outside the embassy. They were handcuffed and placed into the back of a U.S. Secret Service van.
Clooney said earlier that he hopes to draw more attention to the issue and that if action is not taken in the next three to four months we're going to have a real humanitarian disaster.
I would like to give credit for the above article but I cannot find the page I cited the info from. Sorry powers that be!
I'm sure Rain and Aqua won't mind a little rain this weekend! The flowers will appreciate it, too!
I'm impressed by the swift and far-reaching results of that Amber Alert you posted! I wonder if the police in Reno were tipped by Homeland Security?
I'd offer my wife's services to clean your home if we lived, oh, about 600 miles closer! I do wish you'd come across a trustworthy , hardworking individual to do your housecleaning!
Our forsythia has gotten to the point that the branches have grown back into the ground, preventing me from mowing under it and letting all sorts of weeds grow!
I hope you have a great day today!
George Clooney's arrest in Washington, DC, along with that of his 78 yr old father, Nick, and others was for a noble cause. They're protesting, in front of the Sudan Embassy, the blocking of humanitarian aid (food, medicine, etc.) into the country of Sudan, which is being sorely effected right now. More power to them! See safe link below.

Hope you're feeling better day by day and that Aqua's visit really helps to brighten your spirits as well as hers! BIG HUGS AND HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY TOMORROW!
Yes, forsythia has a way of sprouting new plants from branches that touch the ground. That's how my neighbors got a hedge in their yard. We gave them the sprouting branches!
Thank you for the offer of your wife for cleaning my house. You are kind! The service we have sends 4 to 5 maids every two weeks to do the heavy cleaning jobs in my house. They have been pretty reliable (they are in their 4th year at my location) but just the day that I need them to be reliable there was a snafu! Obviously they did all in their power to send a cleaning crew here! They just left. I do not think that they will make the same mistake a second time. Are you aware of my 'red ant genes'? They surfaced this morning at 8am! I sure would not have liked listening to someone like me that early in the morning. Go rest red ant! It is an order! LOL
Alley, I know. You are always with me too, even when I do not stay in touch. Take care my friend. I have to make this short as I outdid myself with the response to Ylee, and I need to go resume my preparations for dinner.
Shore, have fun in Lousiana. Looking forward to the stories you will write and the photos. And please do a little Zydeco dancing if you have the opportunity.
Have a good day Mass.
And now, off I go.
I have not been around much in past weeks and I read back and see you are not feeling well at all..
hope you are better now..
and Aqua and Rain are coming that is enough to put big smiles on anyone's face..
They will love your garden.. you take the most beautiful photos..
and Koko is so adorable!!! He looks alot like Betsey's Bichon, Aspen, moreso than Harley.
You feel better and have a great time this weekend with your loved ones!!!
Wow. Had no idea George Clooney was arrested. Starting to remind me more and more of days gone by.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend - lots of love and laughter:)))
Troubles neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And Heaven accept you.
May you have:
A world of wishes at your command
God and his angels close at hand
Friends and family their love impart,
And Irish blessings in you heart.
For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way-
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.
This greeting is for all of my friends, visitors, and all people of goodwill! Sorry that I am unable to post individual greetings on your blogs.
Happy St Patti's Day to you and your household.
Give Aqua and Rain my love!!!
Have a great time!

Hope that Aqua (and Rain, too?) have had a safe, pleasant journey and have arrived at your home. May their visit with you will be a most enjoyable and uplifting one for all!
It looks like our chilly gloomy past couple of days will be giving way, today, to a most delightfully warm spring season kick off. Our temps should average about 70F degrees most of the week! WHOO-HOO! Now that's a delightfully uplifting arrival for anyone!
Hope you're feeling well enough to be out and about with your loved ones, etc. Take care and I will do my best to keep in touch. Still very busy around here, but the better weather should make it more palatable.
Happy Belated St Patty's, Spring & family fun:)
Sunny and extremely warm here today, as it has been for the past week.
I'll bet your garden is looking good. Mine is a mess. I haven't gotten out there yet to clean up the winter deadness.
Our dear children Rain and Aqua!
Our dear family. Momma and Poppa are extremely happy that our family spent time together this morning, and that our Rain and Aqua came to visit with us this weekend. They came Friday and left a short while ago. All is well in my world!
Have a great evening!
