Posted by: WeatherControlPanel, 09:27 PM GMT am 24. Dezember 2009 +0
An ICE STORM WARNING remains in effect for LaPorte, Pulaski, Starke, and Berrien counties until 7pm EST/ 6pm CST tonight. Significant icing up to 0.5" has been reported. This has caused isolated power outages throughout northwestern Indiana. The area of precipitation that is dropping all of this freezing rain should exit the area by tonight, making way for heavy rainfall overnight into early Christmas Day morning. Flooding will be possible in some areas. Expected showers to continue through Christmas Day, possibly changing to light snow by night. There will be a flash freeze Christmas evening, which will cause roads to become ice covered again.

If you must travel, keep an emergency kit with you. Drive with extreme caution. Monitor the latest warnings and advisories from the National Weather Service for the latest information.
