Wildfire smoke from out-of-control blazes in Manitoba, Canada is now drifting into the United States. Meteorologists warn the smoke will move through the Northern Plains and Midwest over several days, potentially impacting air quality for millions.

Another round of rainy and cooler weather is expected to return to the Northeast Friday and continue into the weekend for many. A few severe storms may also develop Friday and Saturday and impact the I-95 corridor from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Richmond. Heavy rain could lead to localized flooding as the ground is already saturated. Due to the rain, temperatures will remain below average, with highs only in the 60s and 70s.
