Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, December 02, 2009.
Typhoon Nida is expected to continue weakening as it continues spinning in the Western Pacific. By Wednesday, dry air will continue to absorb into the system from the northwest, and allow the system decrease to tropical storm strength with winds up to 73 mph. Not much movement is anticipated as atmospheric flow near the surfaces counteracts atmospheric flow at higher levels. Thus, the system will also kick up cool ocean waters which will weaken the storm. Periods of heavy rainfall will persist and strong wings will kick up wave heights near 30 feet.
Meanwhile to the north, the system will start to push moisture into southern Japan. However, most precipitation will hold off until Thursday. Thus, Tokyo will remain mostly sunny with highs near 60(F)/ 16(C). Further north, a small trough of low pressure will track through northeastern China and the Korean Peninsula. This will pick up moisture from the Yellow Sea and spread light showers over the region. Seoul will see overcast skies with highs in the mid-40s(F)/ near 6(C). Otherwise, the rest of China will remain mostly dry and under mild weather conditions on Wednesday as high pressure dominates the weather. Expect mostly sunny skies with Beijing remaining in the lower 40s(F)/ 5(C), while Shanghai approaches 60(F)/ 16(C), and Hong Kong remains in the lower 70s(F)/ lower 20s(C).
In Australia, high pressure will build into the Great Australian Bight and push a small trough of low pressure eastward and into Victoria. Light and scattered rain may develop along the coasts, while the rest of the country remains warm, dry, and sunny. Sydney will see a few patchy clouds with pleasant weather and highs near 70(F)/ lower 20s(C).

Hurricane season draws to a close
Posted: 10:23 AM EST on November 30, 2009
It's November 30, and the inconsequential Atlantic hurricane season of 2009 is in the books. Residents all along the Atlantic coast can give thanks for this year's much-needed respite after the pummeling Mother Nature gave last year. The four direct deaths recorded this year represented the lowest death toll since the El Niño hurricane season of 1997, which also had four deaths. This year's season featured only nine named storms, three hurricanes and two major hurr
