... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 am MST
Friday...

* impacts... snow covered and slick roads and reduced visibility
from falling and blowing snow, creating hazardous driving
conditions.

* Timing... heavy snow and blowing snow forecast this evening through
Friday morning.

* Snow accumulations... additional snow accumulations of 3 to 8
inches, highest along the Interstate 86 corridor and southern
mountains.

* Confidence... timing, medium to high. Amounts and location of
heaviest snowfall, medium.

* Locations... Burley, Rupert, Heyburn, Malad City, and Rockland.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and
water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
north central Oneida County in southeastern Idaho...
Bannock County in southeastern Idaho...
Power County in southeastern Idaho...
southwestern Bingham County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1215 PM MST Friday

* local emergency management reported continued significant low land
flooding over roadways and in fields. Though cooler temperatures
are expected to move into the area today into tonight, continued
snow melt is likely especially with a couple inches of snow in the
forecast. Snow will start this evening and continue through early
Friday. Temperatures will gradually start to rise Saturday and
daytime temperatures will approach the mid to upper 30s by Monday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
eastern Pocatello, American Falls, McCammon, Lava Hot Springs,
Swanlake, Neeley, American Falls Reservoir, Aberdeen, Inkom,
Downey, Arimo, Rockland, rose, Fort Hall Bannock creek Lodge,
Pingree, cold water rest area, Taber, Fort Hall Bannock Peak,
Portneuf gap and Springfield.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

* local emergency management and National Weather Service employees
reported continued low land flooding over roadways and impacting
houses. Though cooler temperatures are expected to move into the
area today into tonight, continued snow melt is likely especially
with several inches of snow in the forecast. Snow will start this
evening and continue through early Friday. Temperatures will
gradually start to rise Saturday and daytime temperatures will
approach the 40s by Monday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Preston, Malad, Franklin, Juniper, Oneida Narrows Reservoir,
Pleasantview, Cherry Creek rest area, Holbrook Summit, Thatcher,
Dayton, Weston, Clifton, Oxford, Mapleton, stone, Mink Creek,
Samaria, Whitney, Riverdale and Holbrook.

southwestern Cassia County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1100 am MST Monday

* local law officials reported continued low land flooding along
Goose Creek leading into Oakley Reservoir. Several bridges have
washed out as well. Though cooler temperatures are expected,
continued snow melt is likely especially with several inches of
snow in the forecast. Snow will start this evening through
Thursday. Temperatures will gradually start to rise Saturday and
daytime temperatures will approach the 40s by Monday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oakley Reservoir.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are many low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

* local law officials reported continued minor low land flooding
along the Raft River from the Utah line to the Snake River. Though
cooler temperatures are expected tonight through Friday, continued
snow melt is likely especially with several inches of snow in the
forecast. Snow will start this evening and continue through late
Thursday. Temperatures will gradually start to rise Saturday and
daytime temperatures will approach the 40s by Monday which will
aide melting.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Malta, Idahome and bridge.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be cautious. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
